Siargao Resorts — Boutique, Beachfront & Mid-Range

Resorts on Siargao trend smaller and more design-led than Boracay's mega-resorts. Here's how to pick the right one.

Siargao isn't a "mega-resort" island. It's a boutique island. The biggest resorts here have 30–60 rooms, not 400. That's part of what makes it special — and what makes choosing the right resort more about vibe than star-rating.

What "resort" means on Siargao

Most Siargao resorts fall into one of three buckets:

  • Boutique surf-and-yoga resorts (15–40 rooms): Pool, restaurant, often a yoga shala, design-forward, between General Luna and Cloud 9. The dominant style.
  • Beachfront mid-range resorts: Larger pools, beach access, more standardized service. Found mainly along the GL–Cloud 9 strip and a few in Pacifico.
  • Higher-end / luxury resorts: A small but growing number, primarily in the General Luna / Tourism Road area. Full service, beach club, multiple restaurants.

Where the resorts cluster

General Luna and the Tourism Road / Cloud 9 corridor hold roughly 80% of Siargao's resort inventory. This stretch gives you walkable restaurants, easy scooter access to surf spots, and the most reliable hot water and Wi-Fi. If it's your first Siargao trip, stay here.

Pacifico (45 minutes north) has a small but growing collection of barefoot-luxe beachfront resorts. The beach is gorgeous and uncrowded. The trade-off: limited dining outside your resort and a longer trip back to GL.

Resort price ranges (2025)

  • $90–150 per night: Solid mid-range resort with pool and breakfast. Plenty of options.
  • $150–280 per night: The boutique sweet spot. This is where Siargao genuinely shines vs. comparable destinations.
  • $280–450+ per night: Higher-end resorts with beach club, multiple pools, premium service.

What to actually check before booking

  • Generator — Siargao has occasional power outages, especially during typhoons. Resorts with backup power are noticeably more reliable.
  • Distance from town — "Beachfront" sometimes means 20 minutes by tricycle from a restaurant. Check the actual location.
  • Pool access vs. beach access — Many GL resorts have pools but no beach (the GL beach is mangrove). For real beach swimming you need to be in Pacifico, Burgos, or one of the islet day trips.
  • Airport transfer — Always arrange in advance. Sayak Airport is 45 min from General Luna and there's no Grab.

Resort vs. boutique hotel — what's the difference?

Honestly, on Siargao, not much. Many properties calling themselves "resorts" are 20-room boutique stays with a pool. If you're choosing between a "resort" and a "hotel" of similar price, focus on:

  1. Recent reviews (last 6 months)
  2. Photos of the actual room you're booking — not just the lobby
  3. The included breakfast (it adds up)
  4. Whether they offer scooter rental or surf lessons through the front desk
